It often disappears, and every time you have a reason to type. You basically have to enter mission control, or command tab out of the app your using and back in. As I am moving my mouse I have both hard wired and magic mouse connected as I have for over a year with Snow Leopard I see the cursor suddenly fly off the side or down to the bottom of my page and have to wait a few seconds before clicking to get it back. I don't know if it makes a difference, but I also notice that the mouse works backwards to what most do and from what it did before Mavericks.

When I want to scroll up, I have to move the button or my finger down, and the reverse for down.
